What's
the best way to avoid diaper
rash?
The skin on your baby's bottom
is very sensitive and because
the skin is in contact with
bacteria, combined with a moist
environment in a diaper, it
is quite easy for diaper rash
to develop. We suggest that
you rinse your baby's bottom
between diaper changes and let
it air dry for a short while
if possible. Then spread some
moisturizing lotion on his/her
skin so it forms a protective
layer between the skin and the
surface of the diaper. At the
same time, make sure you change
your baby's diaper regularly
(every 3-4 hours). |
|
Is
the printing on the outside
of Fitti diapers safe?
The printed design on the outer
backsheet of Fitti diapers is
safe for your baby's skin and
should not cause any irritation.
The backsheet of the diaper
is made from a nonwoven material
which is soft and air thru.
In addition, we use pigments
instead of dyes for the printed
design on our diapers. Pigments
are safe and non-reactive colored
powders that are widely used
in many personal products, including
diapers.

Should
I use baby powder when changing
my baby?
There is no need to use baby
powder with every change and
in fact you should avoid using
it if your baby's skin is irritated
or if he/she has diaper rash.
Baby powder tends to block the
hair follicles and may prevent
the skin from "breathing"
properly. If your baby has rash,
the best way is to wash your
baby's bottom with water without
using soap, dry and use anti-rash
cream to lessen the irritation.

How
do I prevent my baby's diaper
from leaking?
Firstly, make sure that your
baby's diaper fits properly.
If it's too large, then leaking
may tend to occur around the
leg area and if it's too small,
then the diaper capacity may
not be enough, plus a tight
diaper may cause red marks on
your baby's skin. Secondly,
make sure the diaper has been
put on properly and the leg
guards have been adjusted and
pulled outwards. At the same
time, make sure you change diapers
frequently and it's best not
to give your baby too many liquids
before putting him/her to bed.

Do
Fitti diapers contain aloe?
Yes. Fitti was one of the first
to add aloe, or Aloe Vera, to
diapers. Aloe Vera is a natural,
hypoallergenic ingredient that
has been used for centuries
to soothe, moisturize and help
prevent diaper rash. Today Aloe
Vera is a common ingredient
in skin and personal care products
including baby lotion, baby
oil, baby wipes, toilet tissue
and moisturizing body soaps.
Extensively
tested by toxicologists, Aloe
Vera has been found to pose
no safety issue. It has even
been generally recognized as
safe (GRAS) for use in food
by the U.S. Food and Drug Administration. |

What
is the gel-like material in the
Fitti diapers?
The gel is a form of super-absorbent
material which consists of Sodium
Polyacrylate, commonly known as
SAP. This super-absorbent material
significantly reduces irritation
by drawing wetness away from your
baby's skin. SAP helps prevent
any leakages by becoming gel-like
when wet, so you will occasionally
see a bit of SAP gel when changing
your baby's diaper. This gel isn't
harmful to your baby and can be
easily wiped away. Extensive research
has been done to ensure the safety
of using SAP, and it has been
making diapers drier for over
20 years. |

Do
Fitti diapers contain perfumes
or dyes?
Our diapers are made without chemical
perfumes because they are often
irritating to a baby's sensitive
skin. We use pigments instead
of dyes to color our diapers.
Pigments are non-reactive colored
powders that are added when the
diaper material is made and are
often used in diapers. |
|
The
sizes overlap - how do I know
which one to buy?
The weight ranges on our packaging
are guidelines. Choose a size
that's snug (but not constricting)
to improve your baby's comfort
and to help prevent leaks. Because
babies come in all shapes and
sizes, some will outgrow a diaper's
absorbency before they outgrow
the size. It's helpful to keep
in mind your baby's age, body
shape and personal habits when
making your decision. |

When
is it time for a diaper change?
You'll get a feel for when your
baby needs a diaper change in
no time, but for those first few
changes, here are a few tips.
In general, you should change
your baby's diaper every 3-4 hours
or so. Changing diapers too often
can often create unnecessary wastage,
although changing not often enough
can lead to discomfort or even
allergies on your baby's skin.
Also note that new born babies
will need more frequent diaper
changes. Fitti diapers have wetness
indicator patterns which fade
away as soon as the diaper gets
wet to let you Moms and Dads know
when a change is needed! |
|
When
should babies grow out of using
diapers?
Generally, diapers are suitable
for babies from around 0-3 years
old. Growing out of diapers is
a natural process, so it's important
to encourage your baby as much
as possible during the potty training
period. Also, make sure you don't
create any unnecessary pressure
to switch straight away. So there's
no rush in the meantime and using
a cloth-like diaper with an air-thru
cover is not only comfy for your
baby, but can keep him/her fresh
and dry all day. |
|
The
thinner the better?
Some people claim that the thinner
the diaper, the better it is.
In fact, that's not necessarily
true. A thin diaper does not automatically
mean it's air-thru - it depends
on the material that the diaper
is made from. A diaper made from
cloth-like materials will mean
that it is "breathable",
so fresh air is able to circulate
within the diaper to help keep
your baby's skin dry and prevent
any diaper rash. When looking
for a super thin diaper, you should
also make sure that its absorbency
is satisfactory, so your baby
remains fresh and dry all day!
