Diaper
rash is a common worry and almost
every baby suffers from it at some
time. Diapers don't cause diaper rash.
It's caused by bacteria and urine
in a wet diaper which react to form
ammonia and inflames your baby's skin.
Another cause of diaper rash is soap
or detergent which is left on your
baby's skin.
Doctors
say the best way to avoid diaper rash
is to keep your baby dry. So put on
a fresh diaper as soon as there is
any wetness. A Fitti diaper is designed
to let air circulate and is made of
breathable materials and so is best
for the prevention and healing of
diaper rash.
Symptoms:
Your
baby's skin in the area covered by the
diaper becomes red, spotty, sore and
moist. The rash can vary in severity
and your baby's skin may smell of ammonia.
Treatment:
Change
diapers as soon as there is any wetness.
For
mild diaper rash, frequent changing
of diapers is often sufficient to prevent
the rash. Washing your baby's bottom
gently with just warm water and letting
your baby's bottom air for a few hours
each day may also be helpful.
Severe
diaper rash may be treated with diaper
rash cream or even antibiotic ointment.
If
the rash continues to persist, you should
consult a physician.
